Chicago weather: Next chance of storms Tuesday evening

Warming trend for Chicago starts Tuesday

We are enjoying a break from the recent active weather, but the Des Plaines and Fox rivers north and west of Chicago remain in moderate to major flood stage, and Fox River levels are still rising.

Following a dry, sunny start to the week on Monday, a passing disturbance brings a chance of a few storms Tuesday evening. These storms are not currently expected to be severe, but small hail and flooding are possible southeast of Chicago.

Fortunately, the heaviest rain Tuesday evening will steer clear of the areas hardest hit by flooding northwest of Chicago.

Wednesday: Cooler lakeside. High: 70, Low: 56

Thursday: Breezy. High: 82, Low: 59

Friday: Storms likely. 74, Low: 50

Saturday: Cooler lakeside. High: 63, Low: 45

Sunday: Few storms. High: 60, Low: 46

Monday: Scattered storms. High: 64, Low: 45
