Coach Jacob Wright Field day is a day filled with what Coach loved; family, fitness and of course football! This is extra special because it lands on Coach's actual birthday. There's tons of activities for the whole family, from the kids zone that's being put on by the boys and girls club to the workout classes like zumba, yoga and Tahitian dance. There's food trucks, a silent auction and an opportunity to learn more about the man in the Coach Jacob Wright Experience. There is a football skills camp that's at the heart of this event.
With Earth Day next week, we wanted to ensure you received our note about Salt & Straw's latest monthly flavor series, Waste Less. Over the past three years, Salt & Straw’s annual sustainability efforts have rescued over 50,000 pounds of food waste from the landfill, which speaks to how one of their key missions is utilizing their platform to shine a light on the issue of food waste and create solutions wherever possible.
Three decades, 170,000 students, and one powerful idea: when kids spend just a few minutes experiencing the world the way a peer with a disability does, they grow up with greater empathy—and far less fear of differences. That’s the impact A Touch of Understanding is celebrating at its 30th Anniversary Evening of Insight fundraiser next Thursday, April 23 in Roseville. This special event gives guests the opportunity to take part in the same hands-on workshop the organization brings to classrooms across Northern California.
The Nest at Sacramento State will serve as the backdrop for a full-day of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu grappling competition with expected participation from Sacramento State, Cal State San Bernardino, Cal State Northridge, UC Irvine, USC, and UC San Diego. The event brings a national-level championship to campus and highlights a growing presence of grappling and combat sports at the collegiate level.
This event is the Spring Showcase for the Live Music Center of Vacaville and takes place in the historic theater at Journey Downtown. It will include fun original songs as well as covers of crowd favorites!
