Broward Sheriff's Office are searching for a suspect of indecent exposure and assault on a woman in Weston
Detectives with the Broward Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help to identify a suspect seen on video assaulting a woman while exposing himself publicly in Weston on Wednesday afternoon.
BSO officials said the man was seen exposing himself and touching himself before he walked up behind a woman sitting in the grass. The video shows the man grabbing her and taking her to the ground.
"If I see that guy for sure, I will 911 immediately," said Kevin Turnbull, a neighbor.
CBS News Miami showed the video to neighbors, including Turnbull, asking if anyone recognized the suspect. Turnbull said he did not know the man and was unaware of the incident until informed. "I'll certainly. You can see that I'm looking around, wondering what the heck is going on right now. Looking over my shoulder right now," he added.
The incident took place near a housing complex on Golf Club Road in Weston. The video shows the two struggling before the suspect walks away. BSO reported the suspect fled the scene on a scooter.
A woman identified as Sunny, whose mother lives in the adjacent building, was informed of the situation. "I'll have to go inform her about this," Sunny said.
Investigators have not said whether anyone was hurt. Deputies described the suspect as a light-skinned male wearing a khaki hoodie and distinctive red and black pants. BSO is unsure why the attack occurred.
"It's pretty shocking. I mean, as a man, I probably wouldn't be so much, but my wife would be alarmed by something like that, obviously. Especially here in our own backyard," Turnbull said.
BSO is still looking for the suspect. If you have any information, call the Broward Sheriff's Office. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
