Kate Bilo CBS News Philadelphia

Meteorologist Kate Bilo joined the CBS News Philadelphia NEXT Weather team in September 2010.

Bilo, who grew up in Phoenixville and graduated from Phoenixville Area High School, returned to the Delaware Valley from AccuWeather in State College, Pa. where she had been a meteorologist since 2004. During her tenure, she provided forecasts for numerous AccuWeather clients including FOX News, CNBC, ABC News Now and many local stations. She had also been the main morning weather anchor for the Bloomberg Television Network.

Kate is a 2003 graduate of Penn State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Spanish and International Business. She also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences from Mississippi State University in 2009.

A versatile broadcaster, in addition to her weather duties, Kate has twice guest-hosted CBS's Daytime Emmy Award-nominated talk show THE TALK. She also appeared as a contestant on JEOPARDY! in 2009, completing a bucket list goal.

A certified bookworm, Kate sets a goal to read 100 books each year and hopes one day to publish her own writing. She also never misses a day of doing the New York Times crossword puzzle and loves all things trivia. Kate plays tennis several days a week and also enjoys running, participating in the Broad Street Run yearly.

Kate and her husband Scott have three children and a dog named Dolly. As a busy mom of three school-aged kids, Kate understands how important it is to communicate the daily weather story in a relatable way that highlights impacts on everyday life - how hard it is to fight the kids about wearing coats, whether practice will be canceled and if weekend outdoor plans will be possible. NEXT Weather means always looking ahead and focusing on impacts without hype, which Kate says is the most important thing to her when delivering a forecast.

Kate can be seen broadcasting the weather on CBS Philadelphia every weekday morning.
