Shooting at a family gathering leaves 5 people injured, Fort Worth police say

A shooting at a family gathering in Fort Worth on Saturday night left multiple people injured after an argument escalated into gunfire, police said.

Officers were called to the 5200 block of Shackleford Street around 10:45 p.m., where they found five people with gunshot wounds. Investigators say a family dispute led to two individuals opening fire, striking multiple victims. All five were taken to the hospital.

Fort Worth police said that investigators learned that during that argument, 22-year-old Jose Manuel Garcia produced a gun and fired towards the crowd, injuring five people. Garcia was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. 

The investigation is ongoing.
