Woman arrested after shooting three, including her boyfriend, in Fort Worth neighborhood, police say
A woman is in jail in Fort Worth charged with aggravated assault for allegedly shooting three men after an argument with her boyfriend.
Police records show 29-year-old Dashane Ballard was booked into the Fort Worth Police Detention Facility early Thursday morning.
Fort Worth PD officers responded to reports of shots fired on the 5100 block of Persimmon Court in far North Fort Worth at around 8 p.m. Wednesday, a cul‑de‑sac just off Keller Hicks Road and Park Vista Boulevard.
Ballard and her boyfriend were arguing in a parked car when two neighbors heard the commotion and approached the vehicle, police said. At some point during an ensuing confrontation, Ballard took out a handgun and shot the two neighbors as well as her boyfriend.
Fort Worth Fire EMS said two of the victims were in critical condition and a third was in serious condition as of Wednesday night. Ballard was also checked out at a hospital for injuries, then taken to jail. She faces three charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, one of which also includes a family violence designation.
